How to control a Play file?

Steps to controlling a Play file

  • Upload the file to dotPlay's platform

Go to www.dotplay.co. Drag and drop a media file (audio, video, or image file) to the upload window. Fill in the form and click "Let's do this".

  • Define file settings

When the upload starts, under the progress bar, you can define the file properties: Number of plays, playback duration, copy protection and, local/remote mode.

    • Number of Plays

The number of times the file can be played by the recipient.

    • Playback Duration

Select the viewing duration of the file.

    • Copy Protection

Copy protection keeps the file safe against Piracy. Bear in mind; copy protection disables the HTML5 web-player link to protect the file completely.

    • Local/Remote Mode

Remote mode is the default setting of a Play file. It means that the file is loading remotely and, therefore, will weight only a few KBs. Local mode means the file will load locally and make it playable without an internet connection — local file weights more than a remote file.

  • Define settings in "My Files"

A Play file can be modified at all times. Go to "My Files" page. Each Play file has its own parameters. Click on "Edit File" to expand its settings and change the settings.
